If you are just looking to general tethered shooting, you may find things a little easier and more choice and may even be able to find some free software for Windows platforms. To be honest, I am relying that one person on a forum claims he has successfully run Helicon Remote on a Hudl to control a 5D Mkii.
HELICON REMOTE FOR IPAD ANDROID
Most of the software appears to only support Canon and Nikon DSLR's and then only a limited range so you need to check. i found Helicon remote in the Google app store (its free) and it works great, but ipads are not supported (there are ios, windows and Android version. So I plan to go for a Tesco's Hudl (Android) with Helicon Remote which has the focus stacking and HDR capture features I need. You view it on cameras LCD or by using EOS utility, helicon remote or nikon camera. In fact only CamRanger is the only software remote control package for DSLR's that I have found that runs on an iPad but it is very expensive. iOS device at least ipad 3 or iphone 4S which has bluetooth 4.0. And then through the magic of modern technology, your camera will connect. Also choose auto in the the menu bar below the IP address. Change the IP address to xxx.xxx.1.1 (leave the xxx alone) which is the camera address. I am particularly interested in using Helicon Remote and originally was considering an iPad Mini but this is not supported. Go into Tools, Network Cameras and change the IP address (press and hold when your D7100 shows, and choose edit). Some of them do publish lists of cameras which they believe are OK though they cannot guarantee with every Tablet.

Very few of the software suppliers will guarantee that all camera models will work in all circumstances. It appears that this area is very unclear with so many variations of tablets and Operating Systems.

Please check the list of supported wi-fi cameras here. For developers willing to use Helicon Remote functionality in other applications, we prepared SDK solution.
